Campus Encounters – Bridging Learners
“Developing Competences for Next Generation Service Sectors”
April 13–14, 2011, Porvoo, Finland
After a highly successful international Conference on Regional Development and Practice-Based
Learning held in Porvoo in 2008, there has been a strong wish for another conference to bring
together international scholars, researchers, service developers and providers, entrepreneurs,
administrators, educators and students with common interest in bridging learners and developing
competences for next generation service sectors.
HAAGA-HELIA and Laurea, two well-recognised Universities of Applied Sciences, together with their
key partners, are delighted to invite you to this conference.
You are welcome to submit theoretical and practice-related proposals from areas such as
tourism, wellness, creative industries, knowledge intensive business services and education.
Industrial and institutional professionals are also invited to share their research and work
experience related to the theme of the conference.
The conference will offer various working formats such as paper and poster sessions,
workshops, panels, industry presentations and Pecha Kucha (www.pecha-kucha.org). Other
presentation formats can also be considered (art performance, installations, and other).
The conference will take place on April 13-14, 2011 in a versatile and innovative learning environment
